NOW PREPAY SELLS 100 E-FRESH LICENSES TO ONTARIO CUSTOMER - e-Fresh Enables Delivery of Prepaid Wireless Service through POS Terminals

May 8, 2003 - VendTek Systems Inc. (TSX-V: VSI) ("VendTek"), a leading provider of automated transaction technology, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Now Prepay Corp. ("Now Prepay") has sold 100 Now Prepay client licenses to an Ontario based company selling Point of Sale (POS) terminals and advanced Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in retail environments.

This new customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, will use the licenses to offer prepaid services through their 3rd generation POS terminals (already offering debit and credit card processing).

Customers wishing to purchase prepaid wireless airtime simply select a dollar value and pay via cash, debit or credit card. They are then issued a receipt that contains a PIN number to be entered into their cellular phone.

VendTek has agreements with most major Canadian telecommunications companies including Bell Mobility, Fido, Rogers AT&T Wireless, and Telus Mobility to distribute the electronic PINs that are convertible to prepaid telecom services, so customer choice is high.

According to the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association there are just over 10 million Canadian cellular subscribers of which there are approximately 2.6 million prepaid users. These numbers are forecasted to grow to 16 million Canadian cellular subscribers and 5 million prepaid users by 2004.

The Canadian market for cellular phone time recharges is expected to reach $800 million annually by 2004. Likewise, the market for prepaid long distance is expected to increase to $500 million by 2004.
